My friend had a Royal Wedding party on Friday and she asked me to make some cupcakes to bring along. I made chocoholic cupcakes and lemon cupcakes. I then decorated with Red, White & Blue hearts, W and K and golden crowns.
I made some cake pops for the first time too, but in the excitement of how they turned out i forgot to take a photo. They tasted great too!

Birthday Cake & Daiquiri Cupcakes
This week i got an order for a small 6" birthday cake decorated with flowers. The cake was a plain cake filled with raspberry jam and buttercream. I decorated with daisies.
I had some left over cake mix so i decided to experiment a little by adding strawberry flavouring and rum to create Strawberry Daiquiri cupcakes.
I had enough mixture to make 12 mini's, while the cakes were baking I made some strawberry rum glaze, and brushed each cupcake with it once cooked while they were still warm.
Glaze Recipe:
75g Caster Sugar
5 tbsp Water
3-4 tbsp White rum
1 tsp Strawberry flavouring
Add sugar and water to a saucepan and bring to boil stirring continuously. Turn down heat and simmer for 5mins. Remove from heat and carefully add Rum and strawberry flavouring. Leave to cool.
I then used the left over buttercream, added strawberry flavouring and more rum and swirled onto my mini cupcakes.

Hi-Hat Cupcakes
This week i made some Hi Hat cupcakes, what are Hi Hat Cupcakes you ask?! Take a look....
Traditional Hi Hat cupcakes are delicious cupcakes swirled high with marshmallow and dipped in melted chocolate! One word... YUM! These were so fun and sooo messy to make!
I didn't have all the ingredients needed to marshmallow frosting so I decided to make my hi hats with a bit of a difference peanut butter frosting and strawberry frosting. I baked all my cupcakes, let them cool and topped half with peanut butter frosting (recipe here) and half with strawberry frosting. I did try to make strawberry marshmallow buttercream with melted marshmallows, but it just ended up on big sloppy mess so lets not go there!
I then melted two bars of dark chocolate and left to cool slightly. I dipped my first one into the chocolate and OH NO the frosting fell off!! :-( After salvaging the frosting from the melted chocolate I decided it would me much easier to pour on the chocolate instead.
I topped the strawberry ones with hundreds & thousands and melted some left over white chocolate candy melts to decorate the peanut butter ones.
And an inside view...

Gothic Cupcakes
After making super girly cupcakes on Wednesday i had an order for Dark Gothic Cupcakes with red writing. These cupcakes had to be black cakes with black icing and words such as DEVIL, EVIL & SIN written on in Red.
To make these cakes i made chocolate cakes and added Black food colouring to both cake and icing. I added some black glitter and black sugar crystals to the top of icing. Half of the cakes had wording and the other half i sprinkled with silver sugar balls.

Wednesday was my Mother in Law's birthday and i wanted to make her some birthday cupcakes that matched her personality.
As she absolutely LOVES Purple and pearls so these defo had to be included. I had also just got some new icing nozzles and texture sheets in the post so i decided to put them to the test.

21st Birthday Order
So after my busy day baking Mothers day orders on Friday, I had a 21st Birthday Order to complete on Saturday. 60 Fairy Cake Cupcakes in Lemon & Vanilla.
I had a consultation for this order a week ago, so I prepared a few samples in a range of flavours. Chocolate, Vanilla & Lemon. I loaded each cupcake with stacks of edible glitter and topped with beautiful girly decorations.
We decided on 30 Vanilla Cupcakes with Peach coloured Icing and 30 Lemon Cupcakes with Lemon Icing. All Decorated with Butterflies, Flowers, Pearls and lots & lots of glitter. Here's the finished result.
Mothers Day!
Well as you all know it was Mothers Day on Sunday! I hope you all spoilt your yummy mummys!
I had a busy day on Friday baking orders for Mothers Day, here's a few pics of the results...
Chocolate cupcakes with Chocolate frosting & Vanilla Cupcakes with Vanilla Frosting.
Chocolate cupcakes with Chocolate frosting & Vanilla Cupcakes with Vanilla Frosting.
Vanilla "Mum 2 Be" Cupcakes with Vanilla Frosting.
Vanilla Cupcakes with Chocolate Frosting & Chocolate Cupcakes with Pink Raspberry frosting
Chocolate and Vanilla Marble cakes with Chocolate and Vanilla Marble Frosting.
I also made a 6" round vanilla and raspberry cake, with Hot Pink MUM wording and my first Sugar Rose. I was so proud of this cake, but in the rush to deliver my orders i forgot to take a photo of the full finished product.
I tried previously to make a rose but found it too fiddly, after watching a great tutorial video on youtube by tonedna1 I made my first completed rose. I think it looks fantastic!
